Geography.
Located on the eastern part of the isle, with a surface area of 33,92 Km 2, an altitude of 470 m, a population of 5 122 with minimum growth, and at a road distance of 27 Km from Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
It occupies a central position in the Güimar valley, municipality with which it borders towards the south, while to the north it limits with Candelaria, the dorsal chain of mountains and Las Cañadas, westwards it is adjacent to the municipalities of La Orotava and Saint Ursula. Its coastal area is short and its terrain widens as one climbs towards the summit over uneven ground.
